Sunday Intermediate Ride April 5th

April 6, 2009

Kyle Seale – 30 mph wind gusts!

Great Ride.  Ha! A one-time excuse… it was my birthday, no one should have to fight 30mph wind gusts on their birthday.  (Guy’s gonna try & use this one next Sunday, but it won’t work, his birthday’s on Saturday.)

We had a great group riding.  I really appreciated being able to be wimpy today.  I wanna thank everyone.  Rachel emailed me, she was new to the group.  She wanted to thank everyone for being so helpful.  That made me feel really good.  It’s great knowing that even when we have problems and can’t lead the ride, that every one is willing to step up and help out.  It’s cool that we can have a new rider show up and everyone will take good care of them.  I appreciate it.

I’m hoping those of you that did ride will post a comment about how the ride went.  We can’t wait to hear about that wind…

Well if you really want to know how it all went down. Here goes. Have you ever seen those cartoons that the wind is blowing very hard and the people are walking kind of slanted? Well, just imagine that but these sagirls were on bikes. Anyway, it was very hard to finish but we had lots of fun, we always do. Rachel did not seem like a person that just started a month ago, she did very well. I was happy she rode with us.

Veronica are we riding Sunday? It is Easter you know.
    Have a good week!

Wow, I can just see all of you, fighting the wind, all slanted and such!!

What happened to that great drafting technique we taught you??? If ever there was a time to use it. Letty & I got caught in wind like that once – we were going 9 mph in the flat parts, it was crazy.

I’m glad to see you all got a good ride in and stayed safe. Yes, Rosa, we are riding on Easter Sunday. But we do understand that many will have family stuff to do, so come if you can. And don’t forget, we’re riding Stone Oak at 6AM, so you could come ride that part and still be home in time to hide the eggs and everything…. the perfect solution. I know you’ve been excited about riding Stone Oak…
