Brick Training – Tri Like A Girl!!!!!

This Wednesday, May 20th, we will begin Brick Training as part of our Tri Like A Girl Training Program.  
 
What is a brick, you ask???  That is where we’ll ride for 3.5 miles – then run for 1 mile.  (We have a modified style for some of us – we’ll ride for 3.5 miles, then walk til the runners are done with their mile.) Sounds like fun, eh???

Tracy has offered to assist us with this and also share some of her amazing tri knowledge with us.  This is a great opportunity for all of you currently doing tri’s and those of you thinking you may want to try a tri. 

We’ll be meeting at the house in Hill Country Village – 126 S Tower Drive between 6:30pm & 6:45pm, ride out promptly at 7pm. (we need to have a place to lock up the bikes while we run…) 

Bring  biking gear, helmet, shoes, water, running shoes, socks, hat? water, plan to run in bike clothes. 
Bring a towel to dry off with after the workout and a dry shirt.

    Last night was great!!! Tracy- thank you so much for everything!!! We are really fortunate to have someone with this level of knowledge and experience.

    Due to different levels of fitness, we broke into 2 groups, but stayed within site of each other.

    Everyone rode relaxed, we did a moderate pace. Then it was time to run. Some of us ran and did quite well. Some did an alternating run/walk/run/walk that I learned from Rosa. And some just walked, which is still beneficial.

    On the run part, Tracy had us do 5 minutes in and five minutes out, so we started and finished at the same time, regardless of our level.

    We did 2 sets. I found it very helpful. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to make it a regular Wednesday activity each week.

    Join us next Wednesday as we do it again!!!

    I thought it was awesome…..Thank you all, especially Tracy. All I can say is I sure feel it today. I rode 45 miles yesterday afternoon and felt better on the bike than when I got off and it all set in 🙂 Ahhhhhh a nice hot bath helped to relax everything. I will do it again but not next week cause I think I need to relax for the tour de cure. But I think you’ve made me a fan.

    How is everyone else feeling. I, personally, am definitely energized.

    Glad everyone enjoyed the brick training. Y’all did awesome! In the next few weeks everyone will be running the entire 10 minutes, as well as adding additional sets. I plan to be there on Wednesday, will be driving back from South Padre, and plan to give myself enough time to be back in San Antonio before 5pm.
