Greg & Alex Memorial Ride Of Silence 10/3 at 8AM

September 29, 2010

Greg & Alex Bruehler Memorial Ride

BULLIS COUNTY PARK

8:00AM SUNDAY

OCTOBER 3 2010

Join us in this ride to remember Greg, Alex and others.

Our motto for the day – Stay Alive, Don’t Text & Drive.

To HONOR those we have lost or who’ve been injured

To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here

To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD

Cyclist and friends will be coming together Sunday, October 3 2010 for a Memorial Ride of silence to honor Greg & Alex Bruehler, as well as other cyclists that we lost on the road.

WE ASK YOU TO JOIN US AT BULLIS COUNTY PARK AT 8:00AM SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3 2010.

Hundreds of cyclists are killed each year while riding. Most of them occur in our cities, and suburbs. With this ride, along with honoring our fellow, fallen riders; we hope to educate motorists that cyclists have the legal right to the road and to share the road with us.

We want to raise awareness to cyclists and drivers. The Ride of Silence will be slow (max 12 Miles per hour) for the first 3.5 miles to Specht Road. This will be a turn-around point for some. Options from there are to ride east along the Bullis County Road Route or head west to Boerne.

There will be no talking, only silence, during the first 3.5 miles to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Each group will ride double file, silently, at a maximum speed of 12mph to Specht Road. There will be additional distances at regular speeds continuing on, we know it is a training weekend for the MS150 riders.

We ask that you wear a black armband to honor those we have lost, or a red armband to remember those riders who have been injured by an automobile. Please have lights on the front and back of your bike.

If you are unable to participate in the ride, we invite you to meet us on at Bullis Park to show your support.

HELP US GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS RIDE, PLEASE
